Canada Jay • Sticker
previously known as the Gray Jay, the Canada Jay is an adorably intelligent north american species. Specifically found in boreal high forests as well as subalpine forests in the rockies, they are one of the more charismatic jays; happy to swoop and stalk a campsite for food.
The first sticker is a C. Jay with its cache. These birds have a MASSIVE salivary gland (much like a woodpecker), upon research and observation it was discovered that the birds coat their food with it and place it on a branch. Once dry, this becomes a hardened cache of preserved foods stuff. Amazing adaptation!
The second is of the canada jay in their nest. They nest earlier than most birds (and tomorrow i will explain more but i've run out of energy for now!)
